Ordered a new front driveshaft. I was lucky enough to experience the stripped splines at the transfer case end. Took about an hour to remove the original shaft, but I am not looking forward to installing the new one on Friday night. I bought the one that has the splines extended 1" from Cobra Transmissions, and from what I have been able to find, it appears that I am going to have to remove the transfer case to install it.

Anyone have tips on how to make this any easier?

It takes longer to read the instructions on the GAS website than to do the actual repair/upgrade for the DISA. If you are familiar with the procedure, including taking off the DISA and reinstalling, shouldn't take more than an hour.

The only time consuming part is the few minutes it takes to scrape out the old seal before putting in the new provided O-ring. I already had an O-ring installed from last year, so my total time spent was about 15 minutes.

Not a typo this time, I made an offer through ebay messages yesterday and he sent me a paypal invoice for 160 Euro, for this trim set on Ebay Germany (great resource if you can translate):

BMW X5 E53 Interieurleisten Silber Innenausstattung - komplett Zierleisten | eBay

If anyone would like the Auto shifter, please PM me as I have zero use for it with my stick shift X.

Light Poplar trims are spoken for by a member on here in Colorado, when I get mine swapped I will be sending the uncracked trims to him for his vehicle. Win win for everyone, and a final end to a long search for an affordable set of Titan Trims (new from BMW is about $740).

Got done washing it.. i keep putting off polishing it as it needs it because there are some marks on it, last time i polished it was a year or so ago...

Today ill just powerlock it quickly.
Black Wow the trim. (havent gotten a new heat gun yet..)
Poooooooosibly opticoat the wheels.

FYI: 303 aerospace protectant is just ok. It was somewhat overhyped and everyone suggested it all the time. 1st thing is if you use it on trim, itll just get washed off quickly.

Wish i didnt buy the big bottle before i got my detailbox sample of it...

Finished tearing apart the X last night in anticipation of receiving my driveshaft on Friday. It ended up being much easier than I thought it would be. About 1.5 hours to drop the exhaust, rear driveshaft, trans crossmember, and remove the Tcase. Now it just sits waiting for UPS...

Just cleaned out the interior...

Removed the back seat, to find probably 6 packs worth of loose skittles and M&M's hiding underneath. Having a 6 year old little girl is wonderful, except when you have OCD about keeping your car clean.

Also, after the winter we've had, thank god for Monster Mats. I don't even want to think of what the carpet would look like without them.
