Finally picked up my headlights from the retrofitter. This x5m is always there and had a chance to pull up to it for a picture:

Accelerator pedal broke at the base. Went to Home Depot and bought the smallest hinges and eight (8) nuts/bolts and fix it as shown. Got the idea from one of the BMW forums.

BTW, there is a plastic insert that attaches the pedal from the base that can be separated from the accelerator assembly but could not find just the part online so went with the fix mentioned above.
