I got the transmission fluid and filter changed on my "new" ('05) e53. I decided it was too messy and difficult to do myself without a lift (maybe I was wrong, but I didn't want to put it off). The tech said the old fluid was extremely dirty but he didn't find any metal shavings on the magnets or other signs of damage. I'm glad I did it. $398.00.

Then the driver door carrier latch broke. Yep, it's an X5. That I will do myself. Opinions between the Febi-Bilstein part and the cheap Chinese ones? I ordered both, but it will take longer for the Febi to get here.

What I didn't do

Everyone is talking about what they did, but I'm over here waiting TO DO things for my truck. Status update.... still waiting for a truck to post/show up in the junkyard so I can get new/used door panels, headlights, and a mile long list of things to replace (as you're all very familiar with what needs to be replace on these classics) other than that... I'm watching paint dry on my calipers. and waiting for a few other parts to install before installing all of the rear plastics and headliner. So, she sits in my garage while I dream of driving her...

$398 is super cheap. All aftermarket parts and off brand fluid?

Stick with the Febi. Unless you want to be back in there again.

Everything else under the hood except the blower is black so I figured a little touch of color was what it needed.
