Does the door lock but not unlock?

There are two motors and often one will strip but the normal failure is the brushes wear out and it will only go up or down not the other.

The motors can be found for $6-7@ and it's not a terrible DIY if you are handy. All four of wife's DLA died on her e53! $240 @ no thanks. $12 per corner to fix.
Does neither, but makes the same sound as the others. But glad to hear it's a cheap part after looking at new door seals... sheesh.

On further review, I'm only finding the left rear DLA for around $100, even on amazon/ebay. Where are you finding these sub-parts?

I found your DLA thread — I think — but there's no info about a source for these cheap motors.

I updated the thread to include a link to the motors. It's not the first post maybe the 3-4th.

I bought a new key+remote from BMW ($$$$) and now I can lock/unlock without the key. Left rear lock actuator makes a noise but does not unlock. Some kind of clip in there that broke? I'll pull the door card next week to have a look.

Yeah, the CCV is the crankcase ventilator - sludge builds up in it along with all the vacuum lines, especially if you drive a lot of short trips and/or live in a colder area.

Sped up something like 50% but listen to the motor groaning on the before video.
Cheers! This sounds like something I can manage :d

Quick project

I got a box from FCP a few days ago with new left and right Rear Trunk lid Lights (63218383183/4) and new trunk lid "Stoppers" (51247004475/6). Rather than let the box lay around the dining room for a few weeks like I usually do, I took a break from painting my newly rebuilt shed and installed the new pieces.

My trunk lid had been making creaking and other noises for a long time when the body flexed over bumps, etc. and I'd previously replaced the long worn out "stoppers" that go on the car itself. Those new and improved pieces have a spring action to them that works great and keeps from having to slam the trunk lid so hard, but the noise persisted. The Stoppers that I put on today are the pieces that bolt onto the trunk lid and to which the gas strut attaches to. They have a rubber perch that mates to chassis mounted stoppers when the cars is closed up. Super easy install and quite satisfying in that the noise is completely gone. They took a while to get, but they were not too expensive via FCP.

New:

The lights were also easy to do and look 100% better than the old hazy and cracked pieces. One lens came off completely while taking it off and it was filthy under them and needed a good clean after removing the OE pieces.

Added a sticker, mostly for other 3-pedal snobs and maybe to warn others that I might roll back a little, or not to blast the horn if I don't take off within 0.125sec of a light turning green.

Get yours here: Curb shop

And yeah, the glass is permanently damaged from a prior idiot owner's failure to replace the wiper arm (not the guy I bought it from, who DID replace it and a lot of other stuff). A new rear window has to be some serious $$$ but there's a number of compatible donors at the three local Pull-A-Parts. Weekend expedition!

It's the same guy. I requested the shift pattern only version.

I also have the TMGPS t-shirt and 6-speed sticker on my F30.
