Gawddddd and it starts!

So it is that time of year that I break out all the equipment, pastes, solvents, and junk to detail the X. So this morning I washed it, Aquartz Iron Cut, Clayed, Mezerna SI4000, and Z1 Glanz Wax. So while washing, I notice there is a lot of break dust on the passenger front tire. Hit it with Iron Cut because my Wolfs hasn't come in yet, start brushing, grease everywhere. Look under, torn boot! Awesome! While I was under, coolant was leaking, open the hood, the return hose from the expansion tank to the top rad hose popped off. So looking closly, the small nipple looks to have been broken. Double Awesome! So while the hood was open, Adams APC all over and cleaned the engine bay.

SO yeah, productive day. Tomorrow, I am going to pull the wheels, clay them and wax em. Clean the wheels wells, degrease everything, dress the tires, and clean the glass. Phewwww. Lots of work.

Yesterday cleaned the interior and cleaned the leather with Z1 Deep plastic cleaner and a brush and then conditioned it. Car smells like BRAND NEW inside.

Ok, time to go part shopping!

You know, I was on detailersdomain to get a few supplies and I had the autoscrub in the cart. I was going back and forth if I should get it or not. Ultimately I decided not to. I figured with it, I can do the main body without a problem, its the corners and such that I couldn't get into and would have to whip out the bar anyways. Plus I was worried about holograming. So maybe next time when I do a full detail, Ill pull the trigger on it.

No missed spots for me man, I go around headlight washers and stuff with the bar but honestly the spots I might have to go over with the bar takes me about 10 minutes.

I literally wash the car really well, leave it wet, then get out my PC and autoscrub pad, then go to town with autoscrub before giving it a final rinse and then I dry and go onto the rest of my detailing.

You won't get hologramming, the key is to USE TONS OF LUBE, literally spray the shit out of everywhere, keep the speed on 1, and don't press the pad down, literally just glide it over the surface with no pressure, you'll seriously be impressed. And do your glass first.

If you get one and need tips let me know! (I always tend to order new things with each order of DD anyway, just ordered an Uber Wool wash mitt and grit guard yesterday lol)

I envy you guys - you keep your rides clean!!!

i have a bad habit of keeping my rides dirty, in a weak attempt to thwart an evil eye: i guess it is the mediterrenian/armenian/azeri customs bleeding through!!! i was told that when you look impeccable, in a suit, tie, pressed starched shirt, shiny shoes, blah, blah, blah, you should have something article of clothing (and this applies to more than just clothing, just to about everything!!!) that is torn, or has a hole in it, to avoid being jinxed by an evil eye, as the Gods have tendency of punishing the "cocky" perfection!!!

good example would be that movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding - remember, when the newlyweds were passing through the relatives, the relatives were spitting on the bride and groom... yeap, we do the same thing!!!!

Gee, i can't believe, how socially retarded i am!!!!!

Great story T, well its not hard to have something out of place on an X5, even though it may be cleaned to perfection its bound to always have something broken on it

Are you Armenian? How come your last name does not end in "ian" because I had a few month fling with an Armenian girl way back in the day and she told me all Armenians have an "ian" ending last name lol!

Adding spacers for some reason made those 285s look much more narrower

my mother is armenian, and your girl was almost right, most armenians have -yan or -ian at the end... along with some variations, like -iants... Kardashian, for example, is the shame on the face of armenians... lol...

some armenians don't have -ian or -yan at the end, some have Ter- at the beginning (means that someone in the roots of the family was a priest, armenians are the very first christians on the face of earth) and some actually have very turkish or even muslim sounding names, for example, Allahverdian... the reason for that was the high infant mortality, and to "fool" the fate (do you see the theme here?!!!), a newborn was given a name of the enemy, and the bad forces would spare the baby as they would "think" that the baby is not armenian baby... Allahverdian = Allah - one of the names of God in Islam, Verdi - "given" in Turkish, so, the child is "GodGiven" but in the tongue of the enemy...

And there were many armenians living in Turkey... until the bad things happened in 1915... affected almost all armenians in the world, my family including... but, in the Old World, many calamities affected many families - the war with Nazi affected my family, my father-in-law is Halocaust survivor, my greatgrandfather survived the armenian genocide in turkey...

Very old, ancient customs, sometimes make no sense at all but engraved into the mentality of people exposed to it...

sorry, did not mean to highjack the thread with political history lessons!!!

carry on!!!
