Given the amount of work and money I put into my 01 4.4 the answer is no.

I would either go for an 'is' or the 3.0 preferably manual.

answer to the original question: YES!
Mine is a 2002 3.0d 120k (km), remapped to 220HP right after buying, optical modded, have it since 1 year now - never any problem... didn't I write that already in this thread ?

I think it may the extremes of Europe and some parts of the US? Australia doesn't get THAT cold mostly, where some of these boys cars get to like minus 15 degrees celsius then up to 40 degrees celsius. Could be a contributor.

Saying that my water pump just blew, so am doing the alternator at the same time. US imported parts so not too bad, save about 60% in costs from Australia.

Problem
5. BMW USA CPO warranty

You can ask all you want, to look at a possible problem. BMW USA will not listen or allow a part to be installed. Only what they recommend.

Final Stage Unit.

It goes bad. Normally the fans will stay running and kill battery's.

So the Final Stage Unit is part of the air suspension. There are fans in this system? Also you mentioned TPMS????

Just bought my an 01 4.4 with 120k on it,,, and found this board,,,,,
she runs fine for now, yet it would seem I am at the milage threshold for potential disaster. All in info is appreciated

Mine has 23k on it. I got a lemon, yours is fine if it made it 120k

Full list from day one
1.driver side headlight ( sometimes works )
2.FTM ( TPMS) light still comes on every 2-300 miles.
3. folding mirrors ( goes in and right back out, will not stay folded)
4.Tans stuck in first gear. ( not every time, re-flash software)
5. 4x4 light ( cold weather, lights up every 2-3 weeks. fix restart car)
6. air ride ( still not fixed CPO has about $8500 in it so far)
7. blue tooth ( will not hold info or phone, now completely dead)
8. 3rd battery in 2 years.

More has been done, but they were easier fixes, or were fixed the first visit to BMW.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Idious, the final stage resistor is for the ac fan, it controls the airspeed out of the vents. It has nothing to do with the air suspension. The tpms would be tire pressure monitoring system. Those are all separate systems.

Quality is not there anymore, reminds me of how MB was five years ago. Reliability too. Two lemons from three orders. Not worthwhile to waste more time and money.......so I needed to make a change away from BMW.

Cheers
