Removing the axle nut

not sure if breaker bar by itself will do it. I'm assuming you sprayed it with something like PB Blaster before hand.

A pipe worked fine with the car on the ground - just need a longer arm to apply more moment to it.

I used a screwdriver, but it drove the screwdriver part up into the handle. I went the hardware store and got a 6" chisel that worked great for opening up the existing one, and closing the new one.

If you want maximum performance out of the impact gun, install a high flow coupling to the compressor & HF fittings to the line/tool.

This is done to provide MAXIMUM volume (CFM) to the tool @ rated pressure (90psi).

I've seen mechanics up the pressure regulator to remove tough fasteners, dumb move. Housing failures can remove fingers, or worse, getting your hair parted by an impact hammer!.

I was planning on setting it to 105 to account for pressure drop throughout the hose. I know hose very well, I am engineer at a company that manufactures hydraulic (and air) hose and fittings! Was actually going to get my hose, fittings, and quick-disconnects from work! The 3/8" hose is rated for 350 psi WP.

Yeah, that 800 ft/lb gun does the trick, even on the crankshaft "Jesus" bolt.

I've expanded my air tool collection (6 new tools) after replacing the little anemic "pancake" compressor with the 5 CFM @ 90 psi Rigid unit. DIYing has gotten MUCH quicker/easier.
