Well it depends what area. Manhattan got flooded hard core too. Lower side is still destroyed. Like zombie town.

Put the car on a steep hill, like a parking garage ramp, and see if water drains out. If they clean the car, they dry the car. But they can't dry all the nooks inside the frame. Also, if its warm out, closed windows, you should get heavy condensation inside on the glass.

Also, get under the front seats, and feel the bottom cushion. If you feel salt crystals on the metal, you know what happened.

thanks for the tips - i will keep in mind, if i go for it... it is just a very nice specimen of the E90... i could not find anything like that in a while...

i am worried about the auto relock - we had an E34, that had an alarm, with auto relock, windows roll up, remote engine start - was installed at the Guaranteed Alarm in Brooklyn, right on the Coney Island Ave, at the exit by the belt parkway... (or, park beltway?)
We had it in for state inspection, and i told the guys not to leave the keys inside, as it will lock up itself... i get a phone call, come and open your car... turns out, the Einsteins removed the keychain remote control (!!!) off the chain, left the control inside, and kept the key outside. of course, the car double locked itself, rolled the windows up and that was all she wrote... when i came to the shop, they were like, we kept the keys outside, like you told us... MORONS!!!! whose signature on this forum has the line that there is always a fool that can outdo the foolproof design...
so, i am very cautious about the auto relock...

Yea I fear the auto locking stuff. Not even going to consider this one. I saw a guy tinting an E70, and the same shit happened. Locked, windows rolled up, sunroof closed. All I could hear was Pizdets Blad.

Belt Parkway. Or as I like to call it, Parking on the Belt. Cause you know that shit is never moving. And are you talking about Lenny's Auto. Yea that place got raped by Sandy. That's where I do my alignments. He had a ton of water in there. Lost all electrical equipment.

half of my family lives on the H, and they recommended going there.. not really sure what his name was, but you know how it works - at the time, i stopped by, hey Lenny (or whatever name my cousin told me at the time), I am from Andrey, from the caviar shop... yeah, i need this crap installed... lol... you always go for the owner, yeah, i am friends with the owner, yeah, ask him, he knows me, we drink/fish/sleep/walk together, yeah... hahaha... i was at the staten island a weekend before the Sandy, and my friend was getting phone calls (on his vacation time!!), hey, can you send someone to fix that and this... like they can't call the office... no, they have to talk to the owner... lol...

on the x5's the remote is on the key head and so far there is no way for the key to be left inside [when using the same key: locked then unlocked than auto relocked] unless that same key have been tossed by the open window on purpose ...
Note: btw I had notice there is only single lock and the alarm is NOT set when auto relocked after the 2min. ....

Hmm. On the 46, the auto relock would just relock the door if you hit unlock on the remote then didn't open the door for 2 minutes. I haven't experienced this yet on the x but how different could it be? There would be no way to lock yourself out.

Tried this last night. Windows down. Locked then unlocked. Teo minutes later... Doors relocked. No windows

I am also presuming this is all in the gm3 module. Correct?
