^^ Not likely to have any flicker on pre-facelift. Most of flicker complaints are on the facelift models.

Those should physically fit up to 2006. I'm guessing that 2004-2006 isn't listed as being compatible due to adaptive brake lights. So, I think it should work as long as you don't mind giving up your adaptive brake lights.
These stock look upgrade are actually very nice.

The tails in the manufacturer picture posted by PhilUK and the one installed on his X look slightly different ??
See reverse light width? Any explanation?
