I think you are right, it would look better without them

I just googled images of my year model and I did not see any roundels on the side. I bought it from the original owner so it didn't occur to me that they were put on after the fact. Is there a special package that would allow them to be placed there at the factory? The spec sheet shows that there are many packages when built 04/03

side roundels were on the Z, the Z3 and Z8 were just the roundel on the side gills, and the Z4 had turn signal circles under the roundels...

never on other ones (M1 had them on rear pillars, and the Z1 had them on the rear quarters)... as far as i know...

honestly, removing them off the X would be so much better...

I totally agree and they will be coming off. I'm just surprised at myself for not noticing this earlier. Thanks to all for bringing this to my attention.......jeez I've been driving this thing since last may. Pics coming soon as proof!

I know... it's been only two weeks since i bought the car and i am already itching... and now seeing what you can do with plastidip... the possibilities are endless...
btw - i love the stance of your ride... that drop that you did makes the car looks completely different

GoFast Guy, have you ever plasti-dipped wheels? I'm wondering how the rocks/salt here would react with the coating?

It lasts fine on wheels... I dipped some winter wheels on my E46 and even tested its strength with a power washer, no problems whatsoever. It's pretty durable stuff.
