I have the 18" wheels with bigger moe aggressive tires for the winter.
I plan on doing 20" when winter season is over.

I am totally sick of my air suspension and just pulled the trigger on these using the Amazon link... Thanks guys!

Do I need anything additional to install on my 4.8is? On another thread, RajB said the following were necessary for the KW coilover install so I just wanted to double check with you guys.

05 Protection cap 31331090616
06 UPPER SPRING POCKET W/AXIAL CAGE BEARING 31331090612
07 SPRING PAD UPPER 31331091233
08 Support 31336780245
09 Additional damper (bump stop) 31336751594

Taken from the following link: RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 3.0i GUIDE SUPPORT/SPRING PAD/ATTACHING PARTS

Rears you do not require any additional parts as I believe the BC's have the rear spring round the damper body like the front setup. For the KW's you need the upper spring perch.

But I believe the BC's come with the upper spring perch etc so you may not need no7. Until you get the coilovers or someone can chime in with what comes with them I'm just guessing at the upper spring perch.

I did a complete suspension rebuild while I was at it...you're already going to be taking so much apart as is.

I changed all my front arms and tie rod assemblies (will be doing the rear shortly but you don't really screw around with it as much in back). The BC kit comes with everything you need to install it. No additional bushings or bearing plates needed.

If you bought v3s you will need:
Quote:
The standard items for the front I needed for the KW's:

Guide support (top mount)
Part number 31306779604

Plate
Part number 31331096068

Self-locking hex nut M14X1,5-05 ZNS3
Part number 31106774714

Protection cap
Part number 31331090616

UPPER SPRING POCKET W/AXIAL CAGE BEARING
Part number 31331090612

SPRING PAD UPPER
Part number 31331091233

Support
Part number 31336780245

Now the guide support you will probably not need as this is the top mount but as you have camber plates then they should replace these.

The rear I don't think you will need anything as you should have all the relevant components.

Also here is what I wrote in my thread about the coilovers:

Nice info in the first posts too.
Thanks for the hook up Raj! It looks and sounds good. Not sure of any performance gains as I just don't see that being possible but it does sound pretty cool under heavy acceleration now.

The BC's are the greatest modification offered for these cars. I f*cking HATE the stock air suspension in these cars. It was a big part of why I sold the blue 4.8iS and almost made me sell this one. I am still toying around with dampening and getting the truck not to rub with the way I have it setup/drive it but overall I have zero regrets.

The install was done by a friend because I didn't want to battle with it on the floor in my garage but it seemed to be pretty easy. The fronts were 1-2-3. It helped that I replaced all of my front suspension so he didn't have to battle to much with anything but overall it was quick. The rear took him a bit more because we had to take the trunk apart and I installed extended adjusters for the dampening so that I had easy access to it if I ever want to stiffen the rear up more.

The finish and quality of them is great and they ride as smooth as my V3s did on my 750i for almost a 3rd of the price. The only issue I found was with the front camber plates because there isn't much room for adjustment due to the strut towers in our cars. The solution is to relocate the set bolts on top in or out depending on which way you want to camber them. I didn't even touch mine when we did the alignment and might replace them with stock mounts if possible just because I think they might be causing a little bit of noise.

Only thing left to do is code out the self-leveling light.
Feel free to fire off any additional questions.

I purchased them from Brian @ Pro-Spec Autosport - Welcome to Pro-Spec Website!
Sam @ Sams Euro Shop installed them

Both these guys are the shit and really great to deal with!
And pics of my car at its current height:

Exactly what I wanted to hear. Gracias!

I had BC coilovers on my Mini Cooper and e36 m3 and loved them. I did have a noise issue in the front from the pillow ball bearing failing which BC replaced for free, but it sucks when you have to do the labor twice. Since BC probably uses the same size pillow ball bearing and with the heavy weight of the x5, I'm wondering if it would be wise to not use their included camber plates and replace it with a 2.5" top perch and then re-use the stock strut bearings (instead of BC camber plates). Do you have any noise issues in the front?

Planning on doing exactly this. My alignment guy laughed when I showed him the plates. For starters if you have to camber in you need to remove the inner bolts and put them in the middle and if you have to go out you have to remove the outters and put them in the middle (because the tower doesn't allow enough room for you to adjust them as they sit) AND there is zero need for it. I have everything dialed in pretty much perfect in front without even touching the plates.

I also have a slight clunking noise which annoys the shit out of me because everything is new. I'm pretty certain its the plates and intend on replacing them but with the most recent "surprises" i've experienced recently with the car I'm going to hold off for a bit.

If you go with stock mounts please list the parts needed and take pictures if you can. It seems like more and more people are going this route so i'm all for giving max amount of information (thus my lengthy posts).

^^Can you not just reuse the stock strut mount and bearing with the BC kit instead of their front camber plates?
