Sorry I haven't updated you guys (fractured my foot and I'm limited to what I can do) i received my emulator as well and got the CID cable off of ebay. I already retrofitted the touch idrive to the trim (will do a nice post once I get home). BUT now I have a major issue, I told you guys I purchased ths HU, screen and controller on ebay as a bundle, but over the weekend when I was having fun with ths trim and controller I realized I have a 10.2 screen off a F10

If it was the F15 10.2 screen it would not be a problem as it doesnt sit in the actual socket. Now I have to find the right screen but was thinking of at least installing everything and test drive with this screen until I find the right size.

plug it in and make sure its all working. Its hard to put it all back to CCC if youve got NBT.
Wait for the right auction. Otherwise you will pay through the teeth!!! I got mine because of a cracked glare screen for $100. But that comes off and you just use the screen and screw and glue to the screen plate.

Hope your foot gets better!

Thanks! This cast is the worst!

Well I purchased a 5 meter CID cable, I know it way too long but I got it for $35 on ebay coming from Massachusets so I received it in 2 days. I can install everything and figure something out with this screen until I can get my hands on the correct one.

That cable is for e38, e39, and e46 retrofits.
Maybe you can take apart the 10.2 screen and see if you can fit the screen in the designated space. Then you'll be trailblazing for us 8.8 screens.

Trust me, I already thought of that lol. But the way the E70 screen trim is, its a trapezoid. So the bottom fits in the location, but I will see what crazy and professional looking ideas I can come up with.

Hope you get past that cast soon! Looking forward to your write up and design with the F10 10.2 screen. I'm getting the 10.2 also but from an F15. I'll have to follow the trim cut instructions from Germaniks as I posted earlier.

Also doing the retrofit to my E38, but it actually seems much easier to complete.

i hate to tell you guys. But I measured my 8.8 screen. Its a perfect fit!
So, I don't think 10.2 will fit without major mods
I'll document. But this 600x600 pixel image limit sucks!!!

The 10.2 wont fit behind the trim, I know that. But if you look at the link I sent you from Germaniks, you will see the modification of the dash trim to accommodate the 10.2. Looking forward myself to the higher resolution, especially on the back up camera at night. The 600x600 just washes out at night.

Do you have to drill the dash to mount that way?

Not by what I saw and have been told. There is a pair of brackets you use to mount to trim and they are lined up to match a pair of holes in the dash that you use to secure the screen.
