Not just that but the surrounding trim too. There won't be a need for the slot for the CCC map DVD either. And be prepared on the alignment of the CD slot, you may have to do some adjusting to make it work and align correctly with the faceplate.

Been looking at installs of the 10.2 screen. I'm starting to favor 10.2 vs 8.8. But not going to hack up the 8.8 bezel. Gonna build something out of plastic and metal. And cover it with something.

Since I have the F10 screen I ordered a defective F15 screen for $34 off of ebay. Plan on just exchanging the bezel then I'll have a fully working 10.2 screen with minor adjustment. I'll try to get out the house tomorrow and start installing the NBT system (if my foot allows me).

Ok guys, here is the bundle I got off of ebay (as you can see I accidentally got the F10 screen)

Since I got the 10.2 screen I decided to go with this size instead of the 8.8 screen, so I purchased an F15 screen on eBay for $38. I purchased it AS-IS as seller stated it was from a front end collision vehicle and couldn't test the unit. I plan on using the F10 screen and just use the F15 bezel in a worse case scenario.

Here is the adapter I got off of BimmerRetrofit including the updated rear camera

Decided to install the controller onto the trim since I was limited to staying indoors for a while. I decided to play it safe and cut evenly as shown in the next picture.

Then I kept trimming away until I achieved my goal and it aligned perfectly in the socket. It took a a while but I am pleased with the end result. After it was a perfect fit I just applied epoxy to the to the center of each side and let it sit over night. The end result looked like it came like this from the factory

The bezels may not be easily swapped. They are stuck on with serious sticky tape.
Your f15 hopefully works.

The F15 unfortunately did not power on, so I had no choice but to swap. As you can see it is not a perfect fit as the F15 has a glass bezel around the screen. I plan on getting some black wrapping paper today and cover up the sides. Will post pictures of final product. If I dont like the end result I will consider buying another F15 screen.

Here I was just doing a test run before putting things back in.

Here is the semi finish product, just need to order that radio trim and figure a way to make the screen fit in place. I added some vinyl wrap to the ends of the screen to hide the ugly silver bezel. Unit powers on but no audio and bluetooth doesnt work. Or I have to get the GPS antenna AND the bluetooth dongle? If so can you guys point me in the right direction.

I originally wanted to do all the coding myself, but now I am trying to find someone in North Jersey to do the coding for me. Any recommendations?

You will need esys for coding. Bluetooth antenna needs to connected. Audio is a coding issue.

Ojo:
I think you can carefully heat and remove the glare screen on the F15. Use a thin fish line to separate the glare screen. Be carefull!!!!
It's very fragile.
