Hmm, I thought my TCU was Bluetooth too as is the one I installed in my E38. Combination telematics control unit with Bluetooth. I'll have to double check that for me. I have DSP amp, TCU and one other module in the left rear compartment, but not sure what that other module is as of yet.

Where is the MULF specifically located? My setup has the TCU lying flat in the top of the compartment, then the DSP amp is rignt underneath it, also laying flat. I have one more module that is mounted in the bracketry that is silver and goes up and down. Just forward of where the Sirius module should be installed. If you have a picture, that would help immensely.

I've been told that using 2 MOST terminators back to back will degrade the signal to the point where it's no longer sufficient and will cause the bus to fail.

Did you reconfigure the cables in the MOST Nest, and if so, do you have a diagram for which cable(s) go to the MULF/TCU?

Thanks in advance,
John
Terminators are an unnecessary expense. For my CIC, I went from TCU/MULF/IBOC to just Combox and did not use any terminators. Just remove the fiber links that go to the unused components. Then replace the input or output fiber to the most to fill the gap. Attached is a pdf. Follow the instructions backwards to remove rather than add fiber to the loop. Use a flashlight to identify fiber that you want to remove.

Moving fiber pins is much safer than moving metal pins. If you do something wrong you can't damage anything permanently.

You probably have something like the diagram below now. Every car is different . Let's say 1 and 8 are the input and output that run to the front of the car. If 6 and 7 go to the TCU, remove them and put 8 where 6 is now. You don't want gaps.

1 3 5 7
2 4 6 8

Here is a pic of what I have and I am guessing the bottom item is the MULF? Can anyone confirm?

Hi,
No, I don't think so...

I believe the MULF (BT Module) is the one at the very bottom of the stack in the lower left corner of your picture.

Thanks,
John

Lower left? Nothing there. I have just those 3 modules I have marked.

I can see that being HD radio since I currently have that.

That box is HD radio or Sirius. Sirius will have a pink antenna connector. MULF would be mounted vertically behind the amp if you had it.

Finally, Got the $20 + $20 shipping trim plate.
Hot glue and no more holding panel while adjusting radio so it doesn't fall in.
Any updates with the rest of the NBT crew?
