Not sure that wiring have to do with it since it was working without it right? I would have that amp checked.

I have no idea if it was working without it. I just found it under the driver side rear compartment. Real PITA if it was the amp because it was literally replaced the day before I picked it up.

Yes, that would cause Radio and Bluetooth not to work and I do believe it would affect the comfort access too. Open the left compartment and look for thick "wires" hanging. They would probably be in a connector together and maybe have plastic wire wrap (black corrugated looking) around them. If the MOST bus isn't in a completely closed loop nothing on the bus functions.

Sorry I don't have any pictures.

I feel like I am getting close, but I need a picture confirmation. Can anyone provide one please?

My troubleshoot items so far:
Fuse(s)
Black Loop
Amplifier
TCU (?)

If no one provides a pic, I'll try this afternoon when I get back home and have the X5 with me. Wifes car so I don't have it here at work. Amplifier and TCU (bluetooth) are on the MOST bus, if one doesn't work, neither will the other, especially if the bus loop isn't complete.

The only other thing I can think of there is if the shop tried to reset the bus at the junction that is under the cover at the left rear door opening (cover next to the seat back) and messed up the connections there.

Do you have Sirius satellite or do you have the preparation for it? If you have the preparation, in that left bin there will be a "set" of wires/cables that are wrapped in a foam protection sleeve. They are usually stuffed under the plastic tray that you can remove the retaining clips and pull out. If you check/unwrap that with the key in the ignition and you see a red light from within the center of one of the "cables/wires" then you have found the problem. They wired up the line at the junction I mentioned above and have caused this problem. If no light, then I would be looking for the loose connector in that bin.

Hope this helps.

Appreciate it!

Love how all these electronics are connected and if one fails, they all do...

This website has the same loop I found in my trunk. Bottom of the page: How to Troubleshoot MOST bus or how to find the faulty MOST unit ON ANY BMW, AUDI, PORSCHE, VW, MERCEDES BENZ and other cars with OPTICAL FIBRE OPTIC MOST network | BMW LOGIC7

Well I have an appt at the stealership Saturday morning. Hoping it's the amp because its under warranty. I think while I am there, i'll have them do the fuel filter and they owe me emissions.

Check your satellite radio. Mine went out a few months back bought the most loop connection you pictures above and installed it and everything came back and works like a champ. I don't use satellite radio so no loss for me.

I have the option for Sirius Satellite radio but we don't use it. Can you show me where you put the look? Save me a trip to the dealer!

It's right next to the amp. Unscrew like 4 screws and the bracket that holds the amp and satellite radio comes out. The Sirius is the small unit on the end. There are 2 fiber optic lines that go into it. They are probably lose on it now and you plug that loop into them and you should be good to go.
