Wanted to say thanks for the advice (this thread and others). Since mine is up and running and appears to be doing well (constantly looking at all the fluids and numbers - fuel trim, operating temps, etc) I went ahead and got this taken care of. Alignment shop looked at me funny when I started asking how they normally set an X5 and what I was looking for, based on your posts (didn't tell them that part ). But, they did comply and things are much nicer now. Noticeable difference in handling, but mostly because I hadn't worried too much about this maint. since other issues were more important/not a daily driver/etc.

But a road trip this weekend in heavy rain has me concerned, as several times the car seemed to hydroplane for short moments. The roadway was definitely wet, but I wouldn't say flooded. First incident happened around 75 mph, so I slowed to around 65 mph and it happened again, and then again around 55... Has left me a bit unnerved to be honest, so jury is still out for me. I'm wondering if it is just a byproduct of the extreme width of these tires (in other words others aren't going to be significantly better), or the tread pattern (which is close to full depth right now)..

The 605 HP 911 turbo has narrower rear tires (305's, so not by much, but still). But that's lighter you say.. Porsche's Pepper Turbo S? Also smaller at 295 section width (and not staggered)... Hell, a Lamborghini Huracan only runs 305 section width rear tires. You have to get into a Lamborghini Aventador S to see wider rear tires..

I was getting 1 1/2 summers out of my bridgestones. I'm now 3 summers on my DSW's. With lots of tread left.
DSW's are 30 pounds lighter than the Dullers according to tire rack site. Very happy with them. Run flat only has 50 mile flat range. 50 miles to or from where? Town and Country Esso station does not carry a 275/20 or 315/20 |

No spare in your car? Toss a small air compressor, tire plug kit and tire goo, or a can of tire repair in your back storage.

Update: Hey Guys! I had the Conti Extreme Contact DWS06's installed on Saturday. So far I love these tires. I didn't realize how loud the Toyos were until they were off!
Thanks for all of the help and advice
