Just got reading the Press Release. I seriously can't believe how much there is...BMW yet again- but even more than any previous model- is going to COMPLETELY revolutionize the this market.

The new transmissions sound very interesting. Are indeed they DSG-like?....any more details?

I'm kinda bummed that we aren't getting the N54 (I6 TT).

I'm guessing that the price will go up considerably given all the new goodies - I doubt I'll be able to afford one - I really can't afford the one I have now, but hey, it's only money!!!

I can't see a ride height adjustment switch - is that in iDrive now?

i mentioned this in the other thread, but this seems to be the more popular one now... anyone notice that there is no "regular" glove compartment? i noticed that there is a button on the metallic trim right below the right side central air vent, and that the passenger side wood trim looks like it's not permanently attached to the dash, like it would move up to expose the storage... check it out:

Pft yah but it's not the same as 3 pedals and a manual shifter now is it?

Electronic parking brake is yet another thing I dont like. I must live in the stone age cuz I'm not fond of all this "electronic" stuff which makes it like a 7-series.

I guess there's always an X3.......

I might actually end up with one of those in 2008. Damn, I was hoping to move on to something else, but that is one sweet ride!

Yup! New X5 for me in a couple of years (hopefully, all the bugs will be out by then). I won't make the same mistake again getting an early model year.

Thumbs up

I think BMW did an excellent job with this! Front and back looks awesome. Side view is a bit "busy" -- not quite as clean as the current design. Interior looks awesome -- much better than a 5-series interior.

Press release said something about "lightweight body shell". Wonder what this big boy weighs?

Now if they can just bring their diesel engines to the U.S., they will have a home run on their hands.
