With the software update, did you lose all of your preferences/settings, such as locking system and presets on the audio?

Up here in Canada my dealer says the most recent update they have is v25. Can any Canadians confirm which update version they received? I thought there was a v25.1 & 25.2??

no RTTI in canada, 25.2 onli fixes RTTI problem in 25.0, that would be my guess

Took the car in for the upgrade. They kept it for three days in part waiting for a latch to be replaced per a recall.
When I picked up the car, they had not upgraded the software. They claimed they did an upgrade per a recall notice, but when I pushed about the upgrade mentioned in the service bulleting, they admitted they had not performed that upgrade (despite my specifically giving them the Service Bulletin number when I made the appointment and when I dropped off the car). It gets worse. Whatever upgrade they did perform: (a) wiped out saved preferences; (b) resulted in the steering wheel no longer rising when turning the ignition off; and (c) the rearview mirror compass freezing on a direction of NE (after recallibrating, this is now back to normal). Worst of all, I have the rear entertainment package, which worked fine until this morning. I inserted a new DVD for my daughter and the screen said it could not read the DVD. Moreover, I cannot eject the DVD. Powered off, on, pressed eject, checked menus, etc. - I cannot figure out how to get it out. If anyone has any suggestions, my 2-year old would appreciate it. |

My steering wheel has exhibited the problem you mentioned since I took delivery (Feb 2007). The wheel moves down insted of up when turning the ignition off, and will not move back to the original position when entering the vehicle. I have been waiting for a new software release to bring the car in for this problem - I think I will wait a bit longer now....

Reading my service notes, It looks like my dealership had to run the upgrade 3 times before it finished correctly. The first two times completely locked at certains points. Technology is great when it works :-)
BTW, I think the steering wheel moving up is a preference setting in iDrive.

Can't find an option in iDrive for easy entry/exit moving the steering wheel up and down - only the programable steering wheel buttons. Manual only says that it occurs.
