thats great !
it sure sucks though having to wait months and months for a car that only takes a few days to build

sounds exactly like mine only a month later on all accounts

best info I've gotten on build/delivery so far is:

"No VIN yet. Can't tell you any more than your car is built this month and will arrive in March. As soon as I have an eta for shipping I will contact you.
Talk soon."

The stock controller at the dealer has the access to tell you once you get the VIN #. The Vin# only tells you that the car is scheduled for production.

Just been loaded...

My X5 has just been loaded on the ship ! Yay !
I rang the ships operator to request that they come straight to Fremantle and do the other ports later. He said no problemo !

....well today I did the business. I had the used car section evaluate my car and the trade in price they gave me was shocking in my opinion. I was expecting this to some degree but it was outrageous. My salesman and salesmanager could see how dark i was and I left it with them to help me out. In the end they managed to squeeze a few thousand more from used cars and they did the best they can on the new car price.

before delivery i will be looking to sell it to someone else, but for now I have a trade in value that will be held for the next few weeks until my car is delivered.

The price on my new car I have to say, I am very happy with - i knew they would look after me again. At first I thought it wasn't much of a discount but in actual fact I think its quite alot, especially on an ordered vehicle.

I got the feeling that the print out of costs was obviously something they didnt want to be common knowledge as they asked me if i was going to keep it. They did say BMW doesnt like to show where the discount comes from and hence prefers to show the final sum only. The print out I have shows the price charged for the car and all it's options so by comparing to the list price i could see how much i actually paid, so I guess that's why they asked me the question.

The ship is on it way to Brisbane now and wont get to Fremantle until the 29 Feb 08. The next few weeks is going to be even more painful now that the deal is struck and finance pre-approved. I really can't wait, especially to experience driving with a Head Up Display and for the first time in all my BMW's, an upgraded sound system and therefore hopefully much better sounding speakers.

soon i will get to see how long my X5 lasts before it has its first quality build issue....

What are you trading in, and how much did they offer you?
