it sure was. earlier this week i reminded my salesman that it would be in their interest to get my car delivered asap because the longer it takes the more kms (i avg around 800 - 1000kms a week) and potential damage i put on my car just from normal driving eg stone chips etc and that they are holding the evaluation value. My salesman said he will put my car on priority for clearance so i hope he did what he said and that it will be cleared within the next week or so.

did u get urs? how about pics

not yet, the build was delayed a little, it got built mid-feb instead of late-jan
I've asked for a delivery date but they reckon they don't know yet

My Euro number plates are ready for collection and I got the call from the dealer today saying the car has arrived and will be ready for delivery this Thursday !!.

They had placed my car on highest priority along with two others out of the 53 cars that arrived on the same ship in the begining of March.

I can still remember when I first placed the order and trying to work out the schedule of events and timing leading up to delivery. When I read my first post on the matter it didn't seem that long ago but I can definitely say that time didn't go quick enough for me but i think it's not good to wish for time to pass away like that....only brings our ending closer

I'ved asked them to install window tinting and may ask for the Ipod connection to be added.

Anyway hope to pick it up this week.

thanks Jimsaq. I know from everything that I have impatiently waited for in the past that the novelty will wear off very quickly.

I expect this will happen with the X5 after the first few days or when I get my first stone chip or when the wheels get dirty and I have to wash it. Oh well...I will have the HUD to pretend I am flying in a plane....

I still wish the SD version was more distinguishable from other models but it looks like I will have to do something tasteful to achieve that.

Maybe I'll stick another 3.0SD badge on the tailgate...

The M Sport version for example has colour coded bumpers and plastic guard to set it apart

I placed my deposit back in mid-september last year. gonna be doing a lot of driving for a while I can tell you that I already do about 100km round trip to/from work each day as it is. when I get this X5 I'm not gonna want to get out of the car

Hi Jimsaq,

You will like the brakes on the sd, the rotors and pads are bigger than the ones on the 4.8 V8.

Also think they have done some computer changes to the Adaptive Drive, it seem a little softer than my last E70. This one floats a little at highway speed. Also lead to believe the 2008 version is 5mm higher in ground clearence so this may have something to do with it and or most likely changed the front springs to little softer rating.

It's just not as tight in sports mode on the adaptive drive as the last one.
