My new X5 sd is working its way through bond & pre -delievery, it arrived yesterday morning.

By the way their is no twin turbo stamping on the X5, it just says on the lower front gaurds 3.0sd. The only other difference from the normal 3.0d is it now comes with silver kidney grills and bigger brakes both from the V8 version.

Trading in a 2007 delivery E53 3.0d Sports. Typical options were
pano roof
bluetooth
20" wheels
TV
reversing camera

43,000kms and 12 months old and they would only give $74,200 !!
That was after my sales manager screwed $3k more out of them.

Guaranteed they will place it on the lot for $89,990.00

I feel its a shame that there really isnt much to distinguish the twin turbo diesel from the normal one.

Unlike the dual exhausts on the twin turbo 335i which sets it more apart from the other 3 series in the range...

Are the exhaust tips on the 3.0sd now chrome as opposed to stainless steel?

Another difference is you can also order the 214 style 20s on the SD where on the 3.0si it's not technically an option. You'd have to make a deal after (which complicates things with buyback, etc.). I see you took advantage of that.

what we're paying has little to do with the exchange rate unfortunately.

eg: today's exchange rate - 1 AUD = 0.918365 USD

yet our recommended retail price on a 3.0sd is $102,800

3.0si in the same spec is $94,500

4.8i is $118,300

on top of this is a luxury tax which is something like 25 cents for every dollar over $57,000, stamp duty which is a goverment tax of anywhere between 4% and 8% of the purchase price - maybe more depending on your state of purchase. and registration + dealer delivery which is another $3000-$4000

Although I did not pay the RRP given below on my X5 E70 3.0d Exec Sports or my 3.0sd Exec Sports, the prices are as follows, taking in the Aero kit & install:-

My X5 e70 3.0d optioned as below was $142,500.00 and my new X5 e70 SD optioned as below is $154,000.00.

I added on the SD comfort seats with electric lumbar & USB, plus the SD is about $6k dearer than a 3.0d Exec.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My second X5 08 E70 SD Exec Sports, (Opt - Adaptive Drive, Self-Levelling Susupension, Active Steer, Head-up Display, Adaptive Bi-Xenon Head Lights with Washers, Panorama Roof, Third Row Seats, USB, 20" 214 Y-Spoke Wheels, Aluminium S/Boards, Comfort Seats with Electric Lumber support, Brushed Aluminium Trim, Aero Kit, Window Tint, Towbar, Mats & Rear Cargo Mat) 4700k Angel Eyes & Fog Lights 4700k, Oval Tips & much more!

I ordered the 19" 211 alloys but for some reason the car is coming with the 214s. I wont worry about changing it because it will involve removing the wheel arches else it will look really weird (skinnier wheels) and theres no way I want them to disassemble the car after its been built.
