800-831-1117 is more up to date. Just ask for vehicle production status...

Not to worry you, but it might be that the dealer has no allocation for it to be built. Morristown told me that for their diesels waiting to be built, they have to send an email to BMWNA titled "Subject to $4500" and wait to have it accepted. I hope that isn't your case!

I was told we had an allocation, just no number yet. My dealer supposedly has attempted to contact BMW about it, but no responce as of Friday.
I was nice ( Or maybe dumb ) to have traded in my current X5 early because they had a customer for it now. I have my 328XI coupe for daily use, but once November hits I really need the X5....

I just got a call back from my salesman stating that the regional sales rep said I should have a production number this week There just weren't enough numbers available when I ordered.

Also he told me that the $4500 eco-credit is being extended through October!

I (finally) received three calls from dealers today saying they were able to confirm allocations subject to the Eco Credit. Before they were noncommital. Too bad BMW couldn't confirm this for the dealers and customers earlier. Anyway, I certainly wouldn't worry about lack of a production number.

Does this mean that cars that didn't have an allocation now do? Or does this mean that you can purchase a diesel and still get the credit for a few more months?

Either way, now everybody who ordered a diesel will be happy!

Also just ordered mine today. Chose Vermillion Red and Saddle brown but now I'm getting buyer's remorse and I didn't even take delivery yet. Remorse for color selection not vehicle selection. Going to sleep on it. Other choices were white, Space grey and the silver ( silver last because we have 3 other silver vehicles) Swore off black since my present X5 is Sapphire black and I swore off black when I bought it (but I wouldn't listen to myself!) this after having 4 other black cars. NO MORE BLACK. Yet I'm thinking that the Vermillion red is going to require just as much attention as the black. I know it's a personal decision but I'm open to input.

Wow, a very similar color selection! My mother didn't like the idea of white, and our current X5 is silver. Space gray was an option, but it seemed that it was very popular with the current E70 and we wanted to be different. My mother proposed Vermillion Red, I proposed Deep Green and my father liked Monaco Blue.

I was just in NYC yesterday looking around for X5's and colors. Black ones do look dirty in the city, but a white one didn't hide the dirt much better. I saw a Vermillion Red X6 drive by, and I thought it looked great and hid the dirt pretty well compared to the other X5's I've seen.
