DID you have to cut the black cover plate in the base of the camera to make it fit to the tailgate or was the OEM space big enough?.

Someone mention to cut the blue cable to remove the blue lines. I dont see the blue cable in my camera, do I have to open the camera and cut it from inside?. Do you know?.

I did not have to do any cutting for the camera to fit. As for cutting cables, I would not recommend cutting anything. For more complete answers you should PM us_matrix.

Had a question.. I have that lieele plastic cover on the rear where this backup camera goes. seems to be stuck on with some weak double sided tape. do you just pull that off and stick the camera in there? I see from youir pic that you seem to have a black ring around your camera where the camera touches the body. Does that ring/mount come with the camera?

Figured it out.. In case anyone else is wondering there is a grommet that sits in the hole where the camera pops into. Part number 66539187808 for my X5. Seems some come with it already there, but mine came with a square plastic peice which is just stuck on with double sided tape.. cost 26.09 at the local dealer.. about 9 bucks online shops.. FYI..
