Anyone interested in Back Up Camera system?

Hello,

I have media interface kit + oem style back up camera installed on my 09' M3 with new iDrive,

This kit will also work with X5/X6 1st gen iDrive (~2008) and 2nd gen iDrive (2009~),

It has 1 Rear Cam input, 1 AV out & 3 AV inputs, so you can hook up with your DVD or connect your iPhone/iPod Video and play movie/music video via OEM Nav screen.

Everything will be controlled via iDrive or steering wheel, no extra remote needed.

Please check out my system below, and reply your name if you are interested,

so I can see if I can get enough people to start this thing as group buy,

If I get more than 10 people, Price will be

1st gen kit (interface + back up cam) : $470
2nd gen kit (interface + back up cam) : $480

And here are installed pictures

OEM Style Backup Camera

This is a one-piece camera with new small micro trunk open switch, keep it OEM look and feel,

1/4 Sharp CCD lens (01.Lux), Plug and Play - No modification needed

While in reverse,

While driving,

Looks good. Few questions:
1. Which brand of interface and camera is it?
2. Does this require any programming?
3. Do you have installation instructions?
4. Night pictures please?
5. Is it compatible with 2008 non-navi iDrive?

Thanks, here are answers,

1. It's called QDIS.
2. No coding/programing required.
3. I'll provide fully detailed DIY manual (which I'm working on now)
4. Please wait, It's not dark enought yet
5. Sorry but it's only for vehicles with Navi & iDrive factory installed.

I meant cars with iDrive but no navigation (smaller LCD). Will this work with those?

Can't wait to see the instructions. Defintely something I'm interested in.

Does the camera boot up instantly when put into reverse (by passing the current idrive)? Does it interface/interfere with the current system at all?

Also, will it plug and play on a 2010 X5 without NAV system?

Hard to comment on quality of the night time view as there is plenty of light from the garage's illumination system. Would be interested in seeing night time pictures where the area is not illuminated by anything except the car's reverse lights.

Also, please post DIY instructions once you get them. The complexity of the DIY could be [not] a showstopper.

Thank you!

My guess is that the biggest market for a rear view camera in E70 X5s is people who do NOT have Navigation. Simply because (at least in 2009 and 2010) the only way you could/can get the OEM rear view camera was as part of the Technology package which included Nav.. Yes I know you could/can order NAV without the camera but my guess is that not many people, and almost certainly no dealers, ordered Nav standalone.

So I'd be very interested in an after market rear view camera but ONLY if it was plug and play with the existing wiring harness AND worked with the smaller non-NAV iDrive LCD screen on a 2009 35d.
