When you start going from six-speed to eight-speed transmissions, I think you are reaching the area of diminishing returns. But in any case, I don't think I would want the first year of production of an X5 with a major redesign of the automatic transmission.

I thought I might be disappointed with my purchase of a 2010, knowing the 2011 was coming-out in the Spring. Now that the changes are out, I'm rather happy with my decision to get the 2010 Diesel model at a good price. If I had gone for the gasoline version, I probably would be a bit disappointed, as the 3.0 gasoline engine was a bit on the low HP side for a 5,000 lb vehicle. The extra HP on the new 3.0 should be a noticeable improvement.

It looks like they actually dropped the base MSRP of the lowest-priced model. I wonder if they "decontented" it at all and are playing with option pricing, or if they just decided they needed a lower entry point.

No deep sea blue here.Only Platinum Grey 40d and Sparkling bronze 50i are shown. Platinum Grey has been around on E60 5-series and few others for some years. Platinum Grey is a deep metallic-flaky color and reflects off the surroundings giving the impression of different color.

There is no Neptune blue for facelift X5. Its offered on 5GT.Deep Sea blue has been offered on X6 and 5-series and few others before.

Platinum Grey X5 xDrive40d

Deep Sea Blue X6

Looks like they really stripped down the base models....now we will be paying for things that were standard on 2010 models and below.....not a very smart move if you ask me....a suv that starts at 59300 with no moonroof.....I wonder how much the packages are going to cost....any idea when the pricing sheets with packages will come out???

Unfortunately, no DPC. BMW decided to keep that to X6 and X5 ///M only. Cost cutting or whatever. Same thing happened with rear seat entertainment. Who knows, they may change their mind and add to 2012 models. BMW changes their mind every day based on market pulse.

I like the tail lights and angel eyes, but that's it.

I wonder what the LCI M Sport Package will look like.
You are welcome.
These pics should give you an idea about the M-sport package. The fog lights are in intakes and bumper is all body colored unlike the non-M-sport X5 which has center piece as black plastic.
