The dual round Xenon Adaptive headlights and foglamps are now situated higher and closer to the kidney grille. The X5’s new headlight fixtures emphasize high quality and sporting intentions. BMW’s signature corona rings serve as position lights and daytime driving lights.

For what it might be worth, the X5 wiki page also says not for NA
As for Insideline/Edmunds, watch this video and listen to the guy and decide for yourself how much to believe Insideline.

I don't see in there where it says the rings are LED based?

The Corona rings on 5GT are used as daytime running lights and they are LED based. So why would BMW put Angelibright Coronas or Umnitza/Depo or something for Corona daytime running lights when they have already invented this "bright Corona wheel" with 5GT and used LEDs. Makes sense?

I def agree with that logic, it just doesn't specifically say. That's all.

There are two versions for NA. The standard halogen will have halogen corona rings, the Xenon units will have LED corona rings.

I am not sure which package(s) will include the high version lighting.

I saw a 5GT last night, the new LED rings isnt all that, i would compare it with my AIB V3.0 on my E53... I was hoping it would be as bright as LEDs on Audis...

Well considering all pre-facelift E70's in the U.S. have Xenons I doubt there will be a halogen option.
