Does anyone got the partnumbers for the slidingplate and the heating module here? OR perhaps a DYI guide:-)

I paid him $300, and according to him, he made a single module for heating control, and it just works find on my car. And it just work fine on my car. Well, one downside is that I gave up voice command button on steering wheel to use it as turn off button. Heating control button only turns on the heat.

I think if there is a technician who knows about electronics and module work, it will be a easy job.
When you removed the steering wheel, how do you know that you put it back on correctly? I.e. - since the DSC monitors steering wheel angle, what are the chances that you put the steering wheel on a few degrees off? Is it easy to make this mistake or are the differences in degrees position obvious enough that you won't put the steering wheel back on incorrectly?

I am asking since I had a defective heated steering wheel which got replaced. But now I noticed that the steering wheel is slightly turned left. The X5 tracks perfectly straight, however.

I'm a little late answering this, but I recently swapped my sport wheel for an X5 wheel (no paddles and heater isn't working).

There's a notch on the circular slide-type deal where you push in the wheel. It can only go on one way. You can't install it so that it's off by a degree or two.

Removing Heated Sport Wheel

I'm swapping out my heated Sport wheel for a non-heated M wheel.
I can include the mystery module, if we can identify what it is, if someone is interested in buying all of the items...

You will probably have to add the option, via coding, to your X5 before it will work...

Almost evryone gave up on trying to make this happen. I ordered premature the M-wheel and I am going to sell it again :-(

This is extremely difficult and expensive. Cars without heating use different (smaller) plugs in the steering column ("Switch unit steering column") and different versions of various electronic components. Also, the wiring is missing. Over here BMW refuses to install heating in non-heating cars.
