Chris,
This is for a paddle shift retrofit I am also contemplating. For the heated steering I don't think you need to change the SZL module. Will keep you posted.

CONGRATS, awesome!

So do you feel that the SZL module needs to be replaced for a heated wheel, or can you get away with just doing the clockspring?

My concern was a non-heated SZL would not have the wiring present to power the new clockspring.

Chris stop worrying about the szl module , the power for the steering goes around it - you will see. You do not even have to unplug it and deal with the re-calibration issues, just start looking for connector 61136954518 now - there may be a lead time.

You will get that this weekend once I get some time. Anyways if you have the heated steering start looking for 61136954518. It may have a lead time. The other parts needed are usually in stock.

OK Great. I have a X6 with paddles already, will I still need the connector?

If you do not have lane departure warning then yes you will need it. Just get it. It's only six bucks.
