I've been following LUX and all other LED makers since 2008 when I got my E92. Never once read about someone having melting wires or fires due to a LUX install.

Yeah, dont think i read much about any huge failures associated with lux. Only thing i don't want is to having to leave the fuse and what not left out in bay, just doesn't look clean like that imo.

I had OSS angels on my e90, but sold those when i got rid of the car. So i'm not afraid to purchase something as long as it's worth the price imo..

The new v3 look very clean, and hopefully it start shipping soon! The wait is killing me. =\

Can you share a link where people are talking about v3's? I've searched e90post and google, but can't come up with anything.

I just bought v2, they're still shipping... should be here this week!
It's an upgrade to the power supply and slight fitment modification to allow the bulb to fit different vehicles.

He might allow the power supply to be sold separately and therefore we would just need to cut the wires and solder the new power supply in. Which would allow us to put the whole assembly in the headlight housing.

There was one instance, and who knows the specifics of that, but one instance and they decided to change the setup based on that to ensure no other problems happened.

As much as I hear people raving about LUX leds, I hope this is the last update. Good thing I didn't jump on the version 2 right away.

Huh? You don't want products to be updated and made better?
Not the soundest idea...

I think you're missing my point. I'm not sure how long the creator has had this product out, or if he's allowing a trade-in for early adopters, but why release a product that needs to constantly updated? Shouldn't it be good to go from the beginning? We're talking about light bulbs, not an ipod or a car where the product needs a life cycle refresh.
I know I'd be just a little upset if I had bought the ver.2's at almost $300 and then there are ver.3's coming out for less. Either way, I'll still be picking up a pair for its positive reviews.

It's been out for awhile. v1 was 6000k, v2 needed PS updated because of some competitor issue and went to 6500k. v3 is the revised PS. v2s were $229, same as v1.
