.

I loved my V2's, until one stopped working, then when I took it out of it's housing to see if it would work again, the unit started smoking once it was given power. I'm sending out the unit's today to get replaced with the new version, hopefully it won't be a huge pain to mount everything outside.

I wonder if this conflicts with the warranty. If not, I might consider this upgrade.

No, I don't believe switching bulbs voids any warranty.

To go with the LEDs without the OBD giving a bulb out warning then resistors, as discussed above need to be wired in. This is "modification" and almost a modification to the wiring harness itself. BMW routinley denies warranty coverage on "modified" parts. If you had any malfunction of the headlight or the wiring harness melted my money would be on BMW voiding the warranty for that specific problem. It's not like they would void a warranty on the suspension etc for changing the bulbs.

This is just my opinion.

They look really good. I searched on how to access and then remove the OEM bulbs. Do you have any photos of the location and accessibility? Thanks..

I just had these installed on Wednesday. The guy who invented and manufactures them did the install for me. It tool about 10 mins total and is as simple as (1) unscrewing a plastic cap protectng the bulb; (2) unplugging the old bulb; (3) plugging in the new bulb and (4) screwing back the plastic protective cap.

The lights look fantastic !

How would the wiring harness for the LED melt? It has an inline fuse and sits outside the light housing.
If some other part of the headlight housing malfunctioned, BMW would have to prove the LED caused this, not just arbitrarily say.
