Installed an OEM Hitch on my '09 35d. All the hitch installation posts made this a less daunting task. Took the suggestion of fellow boarders and modified the hitch and trim piece to minimize the cutout on bumper. Taking in for flashing this week.

Very nice and neat job. Don't forget that you can get it remotely coded, plus enable the rear camera hitch zoom from an independent coder. The dealer will not be able to add the zoom camera function.

Thanks. I took my time and had the help of a friend who is a great (read finicky) welder. I am anxious to get it coded and have not had any remote coding performed before so I am going to use the dealer for this job. I will research an independent coder for future upgrades.

I thought the hitch zoom feature was "standard" for earlier E70 models when the system was flashed for the hitch installation. I hope it is available. That is one of the "cool" features I was hoping to get.

Regards,
Chris D.

2 Minnesota dealers were unable or unwilling to code the rear zoom, even when I showed them how to do it (got the info from the forums). Rear zoom was a must have for me, since I tow heavy trailers that can't be moved by hand onto the hitch. It was a day of rejoicing when I finally got it coded.
You may have better luck with your local dealer, but I doubt it.

On the e70 35d: New rear brake disks and pads. (Came with the wrong wear sensor...aargh). Wider rear arches.

Waiting in the garage to be mounted on the car: black grilles and wider front arches.

I'm really enjoying my 2013. A big improvement over my tired Escalade.
I installed the dog's booster seat today. Otis likes to peer out the front windshield. The top surface is non-skid material. It's a handy place for the phone and other items too.
