Emailed the developer about InMotion and coding the ability to close the rear hatch, and the answer is no to both, but working on them as follows:

Hatch:
we still need to implement the tailgate module for coding, mainly in order to implement this coding into the app :-)

InMotion:
Already in planning, but might take a while.

I am having one issue with the coding though. I coded it to start without needing to press the brake, but it still needs the brake. Going to try it again...

But I really like it! Can't wait for the updates above. :-)

Just received my cable from One Stop Electronics, plugged it, and NCS is WORKS GREAT! Now to work on the rear hatch closing via fob, inMotion DVD, and eliminate the annoying nav disclaimer/warning!!! BMWhat app is fast and slick but has limitation. Good to have in the proverbial toolbelt though.

So basically I can't purchase ivini's dongles from amazon cause they won't ship to Canada. I'm in need of one soon so purchasing from them direct is not an option. Can anyone suggest another dongle? I'd probably would want one that would work with NCS also. Thanks in advance

Ugh. Why Did I know I would run into some type of issue?

So I got my Vgate iCar WIFI adapter in the main today (bought on eBay, from links earlier in thread). The "lite" BMWhat app linked up to my truck in seconds and worked great. It scanned for issues just fine (and found 13 faults... ) and we I went to look at my coding options, it showed all of the ECUs and all of the expected options within them. Thinking everything was A-OK and knowing I needed the full version of the app to actually code (whole reason I bought this, mind you), I purchased the $50 full app. Then the fun begins...

After trying all of the E70 3.5i X5 options, I keep getting the "0" ECUs warning. Truck is running, bluetooth is off on my phone; everything as stated. After letting the app "Auto Detect" my vehicle/ engine, I get a prompt before even scanning stating that I can't code my truck over WiFi and I need to buy another cable and use an Android phone; neither of which I'm doing.

So am I missing something major? Or did I just hit the lotto with owning the one X5 that doesn't seem to work with the app?

Details:
Truck: 2012 X5 xDrive35i M-Sport
Dongle: vGate iCar (Blue!)
iPhone 6 using BMWhat App, FULL.

I would email BMWhat. They usually have a quick turnaround time in responding. It SHOULD work for your car.

Guys....I'm a bonehead.

I don't know what I did, or if it just was because I tried again, but it worked just fine the second time...kinda.

I coded a bunch of things: Mirror on lock, double hazards, adjusted parking/welcome lights, digital speedo, fogs with high-beams and directionals all worked fine. Mirrors don't automatically close on lock, I have to hold the lock button briefly. Not to nit-pick, but can I get them to just go on lock? Also, my overriding the brake on start didn't work, nor did the BMW disclaimer warning override. Also can't access the ECU with the wiper functionality to change those. And possibly unrelated, after only about 15min after the coding, I got a low tire pressure warning that wouldn't reset. Odd timing, I thought I broke something

You may also want to consider running a battery charger on the vehicle if you intend doing coding since it can be a lengthy process and the battery drains pretty fast with all the lights and EC modules running...that may in fact have something to do with your tire pressure monitor fault. If it persists however then I would consider reverting to original code maps (there is a restore option) because there is a chance you altered a parameter which caused the error.
