So I got my Vgate iCar WIFI adapter in the main today (bought on eBay, from links earlier in thread).

Details:
Truck: 2012 X5 xDrive35i M-Sport
Dongle: vGate iCar (Blue!)
iPhone 6 using BMWhat App, FULL.
So can you read out the parameters?
If so, I might just buy the dongle you use....

My generic ELM327 WiFi doesn't.... I can code, but that's it.

What is the preferred solution of all you guys? Bluetooth or Wifi?

I'm using the bluetooth dongle supplied by Invini, running off Android platform. 2008 X5 3.0D (Manufacture date 11/07) and all features are functional, including battery register and service reset.
I'm not qualified to offer any advice regarding IOS.

I use an iPhone, so I guess the android platform is getting more love from the BMWhat

I have the cable in the first listing (right down to that "banana" CD) and I can verify that it does not work. Boot comment on the second one beyond the fact it looks a dead ringer for the first.

Just an FYI folks... If you code your turn signals to blink like 5 times, then you change it to a single via the "Settings" on your CIC console, and then turn it back to three via CIC, it is just three blinks and you have to recode. :-) I suspected as much so I played with it and it indeed reverts back to the factory three times...at least via BMWhat, but I would bet NCS?

Can you make that permanent somehow in case kids mess around? My 14 year old engineer brained daughter loves to screw with things...mostly to irritate me. :-)

What the app said was
"hsensor signal vl"
And
"hsensor signal vr"
Not sure what it means. Anyone can shed some light? Thanks.

I have heard the same from three different coders and there is anecdotal evidence to the same spread across multiple chassis besides the E70. I have not read or heard of a permanent "fix" for the issue.

I just ordered this and will be giving this application a try soon:

Amazon.com: Original BMWhat Bluetooth OBD2 Diagnosis-Adapter - Best BMW Diagnosis on Android - Top Support ivini Apps: Cell Phones & Accessories

NOte: this indeed only works on Android!
Apple doesn't allow this kind of Bluetooth-Connection in iOS, so do not buy this if you use an iPhone or iPad.
