James, if you keep helping me out like this, I think I'm actually going to have to start giving you a percentage! Thanks for all the support.
I was thinking about it and I really don't need anything from crutchfield, maybe you have a little something of lesser value we could exchange for? Gift cards only for $50 bucks, maybe you have a couple little items lying around? Figure it would be my way of thank you for all your help and fielding all of my random mechanical questions.

Schrei- have sent you a PM.

Looks like its going to be another long weekend in the "bass and space package" workshop!
Also just wanted to add as a general statement. This isn't a balsa wood and glue stick operation. I'm very very picky with how my car audio sounds. If its not perfect, I won't keep in in my car. It has to be to point where I don't have to remind myself "Oh, I need to go back and finish that up, or fix this/that on said project". Just a friendly reassuring statement

I'm just tryin to help ya out man! No worries. My reply to Shrek was more to be a smartass since we got into a nice little arguement about his waste of a thread that he started, but inevitably he either (without saying it) is admitting that I'm right and/or has come to his senses vs blowing $700 on the competitions wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am prefabbed subwoofer setups. In the end, with the choices we have available in both amps, subs and your enclosure, it'll cost less in the long run and still require the same amount of work...it's a win win.

Either way, I was considering doing the same thing you are now when I was going even further with the boxes that others had already designed, but then I came across a free factory enclosure and just modded the hell out of that. I'm more than happy to send people your way since I'm never got around to being as helpful are you are by doing this, especially for such a good price.

If you've got nothing for a sub now, or even running the stock subwoofer, these boxes are a night and day difference. Before I mutilated my stock sub enclosure, I hooked it up and took it for a test spin...what a joke. 8hrs later (I did a LOT of fiberglassing work, more cuts than others have done) and I had an L5 and surprisingly good bass from such a small enclosure. I've watched movies while driving and still had backseat passengers quite surprised when they take a look back there and don't see some huge enclosure taking up half the trunk.

here is another good option for anyone that asked about a sub. Actually requires a lesser minimum volume in a box than the pioneer, but its also just 8''.

Allstar- PM sent. I think it's great that you're doing this. Hope others appreciate how much work goes into building these things for very little $$.

James- do I need to send you a referral fee too?

As I said, I put that to be funny since Shrek was being an ass to me on a thread he created. By all means though, if you'd like to, I'll take it...send to [email protected]
