Accept screen background

Is there any way to change the background appearance of the accept screen - like get rid of the orange rectangle button, or add an image? I know how to deal with the text, or to go to Euro mode to get rid of it altogether. Thanks.

No.

Or in other words: not unless you work in VDO's software development department and can re-write the operating system to add in functions that currently don't exist.

OK, thanks, that's what I suspected.

You can try to change text color by altering all white (or even all) palette entries to something else.
Hello all,

After quite long time testing (because of friends´ car availability) I found that this is right and I have some extra info. I found this:

1) You already know that: For MkIV in BMW with 16:9 widescreen You can chose from these colors:

Colour set 1 fullscreen - 'rom_col'
Colour set 1 splitscreen - 'rom_col_1'
Colour set 2 fullscreen - 'rom_col_2'
Colour set 2 splitscreen - 'rom_col_3'

2) This is new info I tested: For MkIV in BMW with 4:3 screen You can chose from these colors:

Colour set 1 fullscreen - 'rom_col_4'
Colour set 1 splitscreen - 'rom_col_5'
Colour set 2 fullscreen - 'rom_col_6'
Colour set 2 splitscreen - 'rom_col_7'

3) You already know that: The green profile in 'rom_col_8' and 'rom_col_9' looks to be for MkIV in Mini (never tested, no Mini around)

4) You already know that: The last profile in 'rom_col_10' and 'rom_col_11' looks to be for MkIV in RR (never tested, no RangeRover around)

I tested my MkIV unit with "color test modded V31 firmware" in few cars (E38, E39, E46 and X5) with 16:9 and (as my car now has) 4:3 displays and I found this. The MkIV unit itself detects the display used in a car and selects acording to settings of Full/Split+Scheme1/2 corresponding 'rom_col_xx' palette.

-I am struggling with the same "no color changed" issue in 'rom_col' Widescreen-Scheme1-fullscreen color profile. This color profile stays standard hazy blue-blue despite I changed it.
-I am struggling with the "no color changed" issue in all 'rom_col_xx' color profile for higways and major road numbering box colors as in my country highways have white on red (instead of standard white on blue) and major roads have white on blue (instead of standard black on yellow) lettering. These colors stays standard despite I changed it.

Note: I always changed the color of any item just by changing the color assignement from standard palette to selected item, not by redefining the palette itself.

I created a bit modified color profiles that my friends reported as not so bad , so I will create some description soon and I will post them here.

Cheers, Kamil

ambishop's split.exe anybody?

Hello all,

it's been a while since my last NAV mod, but now that v32 is out I'd like to start from scratch. Unfortunately it seems I've accidently deleted some tools I've put together for this, including ambishop's split.exe which is a great help when working on the navboot file. Does anybody happen to have a copy of this file and wants to send it to me by email, or point me to a download location?

TIA

Uwe

Can I ask a quick question, in short is Nav tweak easy to use?
I presume it's basically used to amend the existing files in the OS update disk?
Is it fairly easy to do this, I have done a bit of reading on this but still unsure if it is straightforward or not, just need honest opinions :p
