I agree, the last time I was in and wanted stuff done, I ended up using the coding tablet myself as the Tech assigned to the job was clueless, first they said it could not be done, then that the car would not accept the coding, I asked them if I could have a go and sorted it out in less than 5 minutes, and that was just for retrofitting the rear LED lights, not coding the nav unit.

Hello navi editors,

after successfully testing navtweak I'm really really hooked about all the features.

The features and also the results are so fantastic that I try to ask for some other innovations, now. - In hope nobody kill me for that -

Until now, I added the POI-Warner and changed the settings for navi-colours. And it works wonderful.

But, there are some ideas in my brain, which I have to ask for
1. Is it somehow possible to increase the scale-range of the navi? Sometimes I need a lower scale than 100m, but there is no one. 25/50m scale would be a dream.
2. Is it possible to change the ratio between navi and arrow-screen in split-screen mode. In my eyes, the arrow-screen could be much smaller and therefore the navi-screen much bigger. But is it changeable???

Thx a lot,

Frank - PoD -

Does anyone know where check control language selection is defined?

For example: I want to modify Italian language to something else, I can easily change the texts but instrument cluster's check control text still switches to Italian and I want it in English. Where is this defined? Looks like it's not in the language module, it was still the same after I exported/imported English language module over the Italian language module.

Change the language with navcoder, and make the primary language English, that way the cluster, nav, phone, VR and TV will all be correct. (jump in Jochen if I'm talking rubbish).

What primary language? I have English in 1st position but it makes no difference, as soon as I select another language check control also changes.

Btw. how do I code just two languages and leave last position empty? Navcoder seems to always code all three.

In the Light Control Module, in the Phone, in the Nav, in the Tire Defect Monitor, and in the Instrument CLuster

With your method you can only modify nav text, you cannot change the language.

Ie if you change "Lingua" to "Language", you only changed the displayed text, the car is still configured for Italian

To change the car's config from IT to EN, use NavCoder and load the EN language into the nav. Then select EN in the nav, and the car will correctly set everything to EN.

You must use NavCoder and load EN + 2 other languages iof your choice.

You cannot leave an empty position
you must load 2 languages on a Mk2 or Mk3, and 3 languages on a Mk4

So if you have now IT, FR & DE but you want EN, FR and DE, then simply select EN, FR and DE in NavCoder.

The nav will load the necessary language files from the OS disc.

Yes, but I want to use 3 different languages and have them all set the car to EN and still display navi texts in those 3 languages (or whatever I have typed in them).

Navigation unit sends this car config command, so I just wanted to know where in the navigation software this command is defined?

Are you sure? When I first got the MK4-navigation unit, I seem to recall that it had just two languages, DE and FR. What happens if you put for example FF to the last language bits of the hex line that changes the languages? Crash and burn...?

You must load 3 x DIFFERENT languages

The nav will not change languages properly if you set 2 or 3 languages the same

Try it and see what happens :-)

The command is defined in the nav OS software somewhere, I don't know where.
You would have to decompile and reverse engineer the operating system to find where.
OS is a special version of OS9000
