Hi KiwiJochen,

I am getting a run-time error 13 when scanning for devices, this is for both audio and all, it only happens when the ignition switch is turned on. I have attached a screenshot which should help you to find the problem.

WISH: Maybe you can add a log file option?

Odia.

Hi KiwiJochen,

I can test it if you want?

The RTE13 fix has worked a treat.

Hi guys,

Today i received the resler ibus device, ive tested it with navcoder and it works great!
The only problem is, that the nl language is fine on the navmenu and spoken language, but when i select this language, the dash-display stays German!
When i select english, the dash is english, when i select another, like spanish the dashlanguage is spanish, but when i select dutch, the dashlanguage is german!

Is there any solution for the dashboard to control and displaying in dutch? I know its possible because a few friends of mine bought there cars with dutch dashlanguage!

My car is an e38 (728i)

Im also interested in everything what can be manipulated thru the ibus, is there a faq somewhere or a tutorial with the possible codes?

Thnx in advance

Regards

Joël

Hi Jochen,

Having a few problems, wonder if you can help.

I 'm using v2.0.21.

I have build the circuit (from the zip file) and connected it to the cd interface.

Navcoder installs and loads and all appears to be working well, it reads the I-bus and displays the output in NavCoder.

The problem is that even though it reads all the i-bus traffic, when I scan the i-bus i get no device's unless i set the timeout to something big like 2500ms.

Even then, I don't get any part numbers or ver info back from the devices. I also can't set any values, as it says read error (timeout)

I get the following in the log;

09/04/2007 15:28:04: NavCoder started
09/04/2007 15:33:09: Coding nav started
09/04/2007 15:33:26: Code Nav Settings - Error when reading current nav settings: Timeout (no response)

note:
I've downloaded, installed and tried the following vers v21,20,17 and 16
and all give the same results.

Also the circuit only works when the +12v and the I-bus are connected, when the -gnd is connected the NavCoder goes into sleep mode (after 60 secs).

Any help would be appreciated

John

P.S great application BTW

I would say you ave a fault in your ibus circuit - carefully check all the RS232 Tx lines.

Sounds like Rx is working fine but Tx is missing

You can check you interface is OK as follows:
1. Plug your ibus interface to your PC on your PC desk
2. give the interface 12V and ground, leave ibus wire disconnected
3. Start and run NavCoder, try a scan.

If the interface is working correctly, you will get all your Tx messages being listed in the NavCoder display.

This is because the Tx msg goes out the com port to the interface, then onto the ibus wire, where it is then detected by the Rx line and sent back to the PC

>> Also the circuit only works when the +12v and the I-bus are connected, when the -gnd is connected the NavCoder goes into sleep mode (after 60 secs).

Definitely an interface problem!
