Hi Jochen thought I would try this on my Rover
No joy unfortunately, scanning intermittently detects the CD changer or Radio but nothing else.

I also noticed the Bordmonitor goes blank as soon as I start the navcoder app then returns when I shut it down again.

Not the end of the world though I was just curious to see what might happen

Thanks for the prompt reply mate,

You can check you interface is OK as follows:
1. Plug your ibus interface to your PC on your PC desk
2. give the interface 12V and ground, leave ibus wire disconnected
3. Start and run NavCoder, try a scan.

If the interface is working correctly, you will get all your Tx messages being listed in the NavCoder display.

This is because the Tx msg goes out the com port to the interface, then onto the ibus wire, where it is then detected by the Rx line and sent back to the PC
Yep, not getting anything on the navcoder, I see that the bus activity light is on and when I scan the bottom left says toggling "sending/waiting" message but nothing on screen.

If RX is working why don't I see the ver info from the found modules?

Definitely an interface problem!
I think your right mate, double/tripple checked all the connectors and it all looks OK, I've even resoldered the transitors (as I'm not sure which is the base or collector).

???

You know replies like this really worry me...

All looks ok and then you say I'm not sure which is the base or collector, anyway look at the link below this should help you.

Thanks for the reply Odia and thanks for the info page.

I deffo have the transistors in the right way, I was just clutching at straws, I've tried just about everything I can think of.

I think that jochen is right, for some reason the the transmit circuit is not working, why I don't know, it's all soldered up OK.

Does the GND connector have to be the one from the cd interface? (the cd 3 pin plug), I have it connected to the car body.

Also when I connect the circuit up to the laptop and add 12v and GND to the circuit the navcoder software seems to freeze untill I unplug the i-bus circuit, then its back to normal.

I'm back at work tomorrow so I might see if i can get one of our lab techs to check the circuit over...

Thanks again

John

Except he said it was RX not TX and I agree with him.

No reason why it should be at all, the car body should be ok.

Something is really wrong here, I would stop using it until you have checked over the circuit again, you could damage the car or PC.

Used the Navcoder today to unlock the TV in Motion. Works like a charm. Thanks KiwiJochen for a great program.

Used NavCoder today, but some error messages. Can someone help me, please.

When I tried to scan Audio/nav system, it gave me an error shown in the following pic.

When I tried to code the nav, it gave me either one of following two pics

Was there something I did wrong? TIA

I had the same problem at first. Try switching com ports, that fixed it for me. I had to switch mine to com port 9. Good luck and I hope that helps.

will try, thank you so much

Zracat, thank you for trying to help me, but it didn't work. There is only one USB port on my laptop, so when I switched to other com ports, the NavCoder couldn't even read anything from my car.
