That's a Windows issue.

When NavCoder starts up, it scans the available COM ports.

If you plug in the USB interface, it takes a few seconds for Windows to make the COM port available.

Start NavCoder too early, and Windows won't have the COM port open yet... so NavCoder won't find it.

Give yourself a few seconds after the USB interface has been connected for Windows to do its thing before you start NavCoder

You need a copy of the standard BMW OS software (current version v29.1)
I have an mk3 originally for a range rover and would like to convert it to a BMW. Do you still need a volunteer ?

With navcoder, or any other type of program (modic, DIS, SSS?) would I be able to use bluetooth assist module in an e39 that never had assist. I know the assist wouldnt work unless I pay for it, but, depending on the price, seems worth it. The google maps sending pinpoints to your nav is great. Check youtube for google and bmw. I don't see why not since these all work on the iBus.

You should be able to add the Assist unit and then program the nav to say Assist is available.

From what I know of the system, it should work.

Of course, Assist won't work until you subscribe to it!

That you Tube video shows a iDrive car. I don't think the ibus cars have the ability to receive a destination via Assist - but someone please prove me wrong!

If I find out how!

It's a little academic as teletext when moving will be hugely unreliable :-)

But I will try...
