Thanks for your input, but I have tried using the Nav commands and they are not understood, e.g. Hold VR button for 3 seconds, beep, "Route Map", sound returns and no action to the VR command.

Could this be anything to do with the SES jumper plug?

Strange, it should, mine worked as soon as I hit the VR enable button.

Do you have the voice set to UK british (female) or another? I've tried the USA (female) and get slightly different results.

Could be, I don't have the SES jumper plug, so i'm unsure as to what to suggest.

Mine did not, as soon as I connected the ULF (mine is a retrofit) the nav "found" the unit and displayed it in the menu, it was just a case of pairing my phone, then connecting the navcoder and enabling the VR.

All I had to do was set the volume, hold VR button for 3 seconds, beep, say "volume down" untill the correct volume was set.

However, I think that your statement has merit, acording to the ULF manual the ULF should also display the commands on the screen/clocks binnical but on mine does not, so you could be right, maybe something else needs to be turned on (so to speak), I know Jochen is looking in to this, its no big deal but would be nice.

Have you tried re-enabling the VR again just to make sure.

One of the hard things for me is that I don't actually have Telephone or a ULF or SES or Voice Recognition in my BMW E39

So all the features I can enable can only be built into NavCoder after testing with friendly BMW owners who are will to help via remote control :-)

I don't know the answer to the VR questions - I can only hope that someone here answers the Qs for you

After thought, if your system is acting in this way, I would think the VR coding is only a part solution, maybe the Nav needs to be told VR is active to add the command set to the help menu?

I just got an SSS v26 that has the key coding option for BMWs. I can code everything listed on this page http://www.e38.org/E38-Options.pdf

One thing it does do is recodes everything on the nav to default USA settings. I did the unlock all doors with one key press coding and it set my nav to USA mode. I can not remember if I set the "mecca mode" on the nav setting as I was not sure what that was.

Let me know what you need me to log if anything.

I really want to turn on the feature to have one button press roll the windows UP, like I have seen in a Euro BMW. I have the one button press DOWN in the key coding, but not UP.

I am just starting the learn this tool, so bear with me on asking me to log everything.

P.S. I am sure I will be asked; The software tool was $1500 and included DIS V49, V39, SSS V26, and the coding tool for OBDII or under the hood

WOW at last a glimmer of hope...

My vehicle never got coded for the memory options I selected and on return to the dealer at a later date, they wanted to charge me for the work to be carried out ...

If you could log the DWA options, I would appreciate it very much, also if possible Relock 2 minutes after unlocking without door opening and Automatic locking after start (5 mph).

Hopefully we will see NavCoder with some new features which all users will be happy about.

So ambishop, study the tool, because I am sure Jochen will want the whole options logged
