Americans have a strange desire to courier items everywhere. Outside of the USA, courier is expensive, and postage via the post office is cheap and reliable.

Try good old fashioned simple airmail. That's all I ever used for parcels from Europe to New Zealand and it worked fine. And cheap.

I sent them a email about the VAT. Because i didn't pay FAT.

They promised me to change it on their site.

So next time when somebody order at www.navigatie-onderdelen.nl please say that you don't have to pay FAT

www.navigatie-onderdelen.nl

Just to say that I got my MK4 drive from www.navigatie-onderdelen.nl.

Unit was priced right, packaged very well, and did not have to pay customs.

I have received packages from Europe in the past and had to pay customs every time it was shipped via UPS...

Two Types of Laser Head

the laser head you got probably was only a DVD head. There are two kinds available. One has a "white" surround around the laser. This is DVD ONLY. The other one has a "black" surround around the laser. This is for CD and DVD read. Chek yours, you most likely have a white one which only reads DVD's.

Hi, rba. Do you know anyone at Microtunes there in Huntsville? They make diversity TV tuners for video modules. Hope they will make one for the US digital TV. We need it for our cars by next Feb.

Sorry Roy, I don't think that we will be seeing anything anytime soon...

Mobile TV

Mobile reception of digital stations using ATSC has (until now) been difficult to impossible, especially when moving at vehicular speeds. To overcome this, there are several proposed systems that report improved mobile reception: Samsung/Rohde & Schwarz's A-VSB, Harris/LG's MPH, and a recent proposal from Thomson/Micronas; all of these systems are expected to be submitted as candidates for a new ATSC standard, ATSC-M/H. This is in addition to other proprietary standards like MediaFLO, and worldwide open standards such as DVB-H and T-DMB. Like DVB-H and ISDB 1seg, the proposed ATSC mobile standards are backward-compatible with existing tuners, despite being added to the standard well after the original standard was in wide use.

Mobile reception of some stations will still be more difficult, because 18 UHF channels in the U.S. have been removed from TV service, forcing some broadcasters to stay on VHF. This band requires larger antennas for reception, and is more prone to electromagnetic interference from engines and rapidly-changing multipath conditions.

I pay around €29 for shiping from Netherlands to USA, so thats around $37 for shiping.

Navigatie-onderdelen.nl is a very good shop, and not expensive. But if you want it cheaper you can also choose for a re-assembled DVD unit for the MK4...

The same happened to me. I bougth a new SF HD4 laser from Dalbani co uk and it does not work. I have follow the guide on this forum how to change the laser. The laser is all black around the lens so it should be for both dvd and cd. I belive that the new laser is defect.
