It should go over what you have, else bung a OEM v32 through first.
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for this, worked like an absolute charm once I got round to finally burning and installing it and you put the camera alerts on there aswell, thank you x infinitum!

BMW 2005 645ci, USA

I am somewhat a newbie to this type of thing, but I have a 2005 BMW 645ci, I live in the USA .... is it ok to install this v32 of the Nav firmware on my car, or is there a different version that I should be upgrading to ??? mine is the one with the DVD in the dash, under the CD player, with the screen located in the center of the dash at the top, and the "joystick" down near the shifter... Thanks for any help you can be, just dont want to mess up my car...

The 2005 645ci uses a different generation nav system and can only be updated by the dealer diagnostic system

The V32 OS disc will not work for you

Does it use the same Map disk, or are those different also?

Just wondering if anyone can help? Have a mk iii which I updated with the v32 disc and key disc a while ago, however it was playing up so I thought that it might be an idea to reset and reupload the firmware. I reinserted the disc, it said to wait a few minutes, the screen went black, after 15 minutes it still stayed black so I restarted the car.

Now it seems like it's reset itself back to a very early rudimentary version, without satnav. Reinserting the disc won't force it to reupdate - nothing happens. Any ideas? Here's some screenshots.

Cheers!

The Mk3 has crashed and has no Os loaded.

You are viewing the graphics generated by the video module (also known as TV tuner). The video module has taken over because the nav is no longer communicating

The most common reason for deleting the OS in the Mk3 is using a Mode1 OS CD. This crashes the Mk3 during loading of the OS.

To correct the problem, ensure you use an OS disc that is in mode2/Form1.
Note that there have been no changes to the Mk3 OS since around V24, so any OS disc V24 and newer will work

But the OS format is vital.

If the Mode2/Form1 OS disc doesn't fix it, then the Mk3 has corrupt flash memory and needs to be reflashed - either by the factory repair center in Wetzlar Germany or by Autotronic in Australia
