Hi guyz,

- Yes, burning only with alcohol 120% and with slow burning speed!
- Yes, you have to burn it on a CD
- Yes, if you're under warranty the upgrade is free!
- The upgrade is for all countries and all spec/delivered systems!

!!!! ONLY FOR MKIV !!!!

Well, watch your wording...

The dealers will provide free software updates, but NOT to the MAPS, only the o/s.

Also, good luck finding a dealer that knows anything about what you read here. My dealer was arguing that he "just" got the V25 software upgrade. The Service Manager told me I was mistaken about the rev level and that I must mean V25...

I'm not sure who you were directing the "watch your wording" to. I'll assume it wasn't me since I tried to be very clear that this is an OS upgrade, not a nav disk update

With respect to dealers disputing that V26 is out, show them a copy of this and they will tuck tail quickly - http://www.xoutpost.com/pdf/v26.pdf

Talking Good work!!!

Just done a successful upgrade on my 03/2005 (UK) 4.8is with the software downloaded from this post

I must admit I was a bit nervy about doing this myself at first.

I work at the local BMW dealer and thought at first I'll just get them to do it since I am still under warranty just in case it doesn't work and I have to take it in to them and have to explain what I done.

But I thought, "No way. He who dares wins!" and so I followed the instructions given here to the letter and a few minutes later I now have the latest version of the software appearing to run like a dream.

The only difference on mine to the screen shots shown earlier in this post was that the language choices on mine were different (D;GB;F) and it only took a couple of minutes max.

Not having used it extensively (since the upgrade a few minutes ago) I don't know of any potential side effects, but it looks good so far and I'll post any percieved 'glitches'.

Thanks again UCrewX5 and Ferri

I had mine updated at the dealer on 11/4 from V24 to V26. I printed a copy of the SIB (thanks to this website) and they updated it with no problem.
Service advisor tried to charge 30 dollars, but I talked them into doing it as a courtesy.
I love the change in graphics and display overall. However I don't care for the fact that you arterial streets disappear at 1/2 mile zoom. Hopefully they will correct that in the next version. Great improvement. Thanks.

Any BMW Nav OS disk V22 or higher will take a MKIII to the latest release level (3/1-63). See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...ystem-faq.html for more info.

Oh my mouth is really watering now. Just downloading. Has anybody in the UK done this yet or will I be the first? I mean on this forum, not in the UK as a whole.
