Change the version number of the update disc.
Make the update disc you make outside the OEM version number scheme, and then just run a OEM v32 to clear the system, before you run new OS.

Also with the map DVD I forgot to set the burn speed to low and it run at max speed. It seemed work intermittently so I burnt another map DVD at x4 and it doesn't see it at all. I'm using TDK DVD's.

Burn at slowest rated speed of the blank cd/dvd (not an arbitrary number mate).
