If you are running a mk3 then you get the street's names in a very light blue/white.

I'm not sure why the street names (colour) can't be changed (for the mk4), I think that there is some sort of lock on certain values (for the mk4), or there is an error in navtweak that does not allow the colour to map correctly.

I've emailed nomad about this so we will need to wait and see.

BTW I'm not sure if manormachine has got this to work either so it could be the mk4 itself.
Hey,
any news from Nomad about the street names? Would be great to see them with night mode...Let us know. Thanks.

I've had a word with nomad, and he seems to think that this could be coupled to the rom_col being fixed and a "special" case as it appears to be loaded direct from the mk4 rom and not loaded from the OS disc, (so that the system will boot with a known working menu/colour scheme, regadless of changes), this makes sense.

He seems to think that it may be possible to fix this and make the mk4 use the updated rom_col setting, but as you can imagine if you mess up, then you may corrupt your nav computer.

He said he was having a look, but that he was doing other things and would be coming back to navtweak/poison later on (this autumn), the fall.

You will need to make one for your language mate.

Open the image you have (downloaded) and then open it with navtweak, then save the rom_col2 and rom_col3 to a dir on your pc, then open an OEM v32 and import them.

Then save and install on your mk4, this should give you nightmode as the 2nd colour with your OEM languages.

use navtweak 2.7 and then load the navboot, then goto the 1st tab (modules) and scroll down until you see rom_col2 and rom_col3 then select, then (1 at a time) right click and save.

Then do the same with your new image, but use the replace option.

Nightmode, M splash, sky, pointers, UK female voice (when USA selected), with camera

What an awesome project! This is the setup I want to try (Nightmode, M splash, sky, pointers, UK female voice (when USA selected), with camera voice alert and POISoN patched), but would like to preview the splash screen first- any chance of posting a screen shot or the image file? Also, which languages in addition to her highness are included?

Many thanks.
