Backup camera ideas ... before i kill someone
Seems i can hardly see past my own bumper these days and the 5% tint doesn't help either
![]() Backing up at night is an accident waiting to happen. What are the options for my 06/ No Nav? I did do a search but I am getting confused as to the nav part, is there a way I can get a visual aid without oem nav? If so how would the display be mounted? Thanks to everyone who continually shares their knowledge and experience on these forums. ps. my husband has the backup display in his rear view mirror, I love that set up but assume it's too much to hope for. can we use the e46 rear-view camera retrofit kit and use these types of camera setups instead of the ones that come with the kit? i prefer to replace one of the number plate lights with this than use the setup that comes with the kit (which means having a small button for the trunk release and a "not so nice" camera).

![]() Whether or not that's compatible with the X5 system, and if you can splice the wiring I don't know. |

Great. Now to find a camera that will fit in that trunk handle (not sure if the above replacements will fit nor the E70 X5 camera).

Eml, you've got an E46 M3 haven't you? There is a BMW camera that will fit, but it is a PITA to do. I did it to my E46 M3.

You can use the OEM kit without the video module
