for some reason you folks have confused speed with death. more people are killed by drunk drivers, people on cell phones, people driving too SLOW, and a whole host of other distractions that have nothing to do with speed. When i am driving i am 100% focused on the road. I wish i could say the same of the people ive seen on the news that were drunk or on cell phones traveling at or above the posted speed limit.

How do your lungs know when to take another breath? Clearly you are devoid of functioning brain cells.

then whos to say these are the drivers that are not 100% focused on there driving that suddenly change lanes in front off you . What i think you dont get is that your doing this on public highways empty or not ,if you feel the need for speed get a hobby on a race track |
I think the issue is when you mix car moving at 60 to 70 with someone going 100 you have a greater chance of accident.
I also question the point of this thread, what are you looking for the group to do: 1) Say thats great have fun and drive fast? 2) Convince you that you should change your driving style? 3) Forward this thread to the local PD? |
I thought folks were supposed to slow down to minimise fuel consumption in today's reality of high fuel prices.
The folks on this forum aren't saying that speed kills. It's simply when someone decides to drive recklessly, and then some other person pulls out in front of you doing 70mph. Many interstates in the US do not have good sightlines, especially for higher speeds. You could be perfectly fine doing 105mph and then around the next bend, someone pulls out and BAM! No matter whose fault it is (in this case, yours for reckless driving), you all lose. What was the point of sharing your story anyways? :tapping: |
