Speed, as defined by any one behind the wheel who actually has a clue, is about the quality and quantity of acceleration you are able to input while driving through a fast line. It's also about the quality and quantity of your braking, or rather: your ability to Threshold Brake while Heel n Toe downshifting, while Trailing Throttle Oversteering onto your Apex.

That is speed.

Speed is what happens when you shave 1 second off your lap times, not 10 minutes off your commute home from Atlantic City. Speed is what happens when your smooth, consistent and driving like a well oiled machine.

140 mph in a straight line is about as impressive as doing a bunny hop on a Schwinn. They only thing that's even slightly adrenaline about it, is the fact it's illegal (and stupid for unqualified drivers.)...

I'd be willing to bet you you didn't even take the time to check your tire pressures before your little Cannonball Runs.. "Oh, but why should I check my tire pressures? They feel fine..."....

Just a disclaimer. I've driven to the limit in my 540/6 (145+) on a a desert highway in Nevada. On hindsight it was pretty dumb and dangerous.

As far as it not even being worth a serious response, I figured you'd chicken out with a response like that. It was actually a smart decision on your part as we wouldn't want to further embarrass you by using big terms that you might not understand.

P.S. - When you're traveling at those speeds and you hit an uneven road surface that unsettles the rear end of your 911 or X5, just wondering what you do to keep the car loaded?
1) Lift or
2) Brake

I always use my cargo net. That helps to keep it loaded. :D
