dr. jay, what did you do to remove the 130mph limiter on your 4.4?

also your gf needs more cd's ......too much time between songs :)
Also what was the bleeping noise in the video? speed camera warning? or parking sensor?!

i am always careful and will continue to be. that video was originally posted on youtube so that i could show her friends what a maniac she had become. i forwarded her a few of the comments made here today. hopefully she will get the difference between wreckless driving and speed. the beeping was a radar detector.

For what it is worth: (btw I think it is funny to say wreck-less driving)

Reckless Driving

(n) Driving a vehicle in a precarious manner without paying attention to circumstances prevailing there and the rules in force totally disregarding the possible consequences of such driving with or without his full presence of mind is termed as reckless driving.

well I will be honest, whether it was right or wrong of me, the fastest I've driven is 145mph (GPS roadpilot speed) in a 4x4.

The fastest I've driven in a car is 138mph and the reason I know it was that speed was because I had one of those output things fitted to my subaru that when you pressed different buttons and it gave all different types of readings.

The best sensation of speed I get is when I never break the national speed limit but I am in my Mini and we are driving the twisty roads.

Those mini's are nuts.

Vince - I hear ya 100%. Sometimes when the road clears and there is nobody around it's nice to burn off the carbon buildup on the valves.

Best in the X is only 120 or so (indicated)...but that is a rare occurrence.

I had a 2004 zx-10R which I saw 106 indicated in 1st gear but that thing used to vibrate so much at speed that I never looked down over 160 (indicated).

I still have my zx-12R, which I rode out in Wyoming (where you could see the future and the past its such a long vista), and that bike saw an indicated 190+. I hit the rev limiter on the top of 6th and held it just shy for a few miles or so. It was AMAZINGLY CALM at that speed. Like an air pressure bubble forms around you and everything just smoothes out. All you hear is the wind. Did it, loved it and still have the T-shirt.

Something happened in the past three or four years and I just don't get the rush anymore. I find myself sitting on the cruise control at 75 or so.

I know what you mean and remember the high.

Be safe.

FWIW - my best friend lived in New Rochelle (off 95 exit 16) and I made it (thanks to the ZX-10R built in lap timer) from his house to my apartment in Manhattan on 79th/York in 16 minutes. :wow:

That's how we used to roll and damn it was fun.

Ok, nice read. Now I'm thinking that you being 42 yrs old and lovin these speeds without saying you've tracked cars is weird. I mean, I would expect you to pursue your cravings on a track and hit some great times, right?

Now, I have the advantage of using the autobahn quite often and my X clocked 240kph (148mph), but there was no dangerous overtaking, because I wasn't the fastest on the road:D Your girlfriend's driving was a bit uncalled for not to mention posting it on youtube.

I sold my X5 and got an M5 which is a speed demon. I, however have not hit it's top speed because I love how she handles at "lower" speeds and play around with traction. I guess, what I'm trying to say is that wreckless driving at high speeds is dangerous. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

GUINNESS 06-24-2008 02:06 PM

Wow... you guys speeding and setting world record times from point A to point B are so cool. In fact, I may just remove myself from X5world because I am not cool enough to be on the same board as you guys.

Now seriously, you want a fuckin cookie?????? Go to the damn track and don't feed the bullshit of A) there are none around you or B) you can't afford it. Actually, no, don't go to the track... you'll probably get more of a hardon trying to set the land speed record from your house to the track location instead of focusing on why you went to the track in the first place.

And why on earth did this even get past 10 posts and already up to 60?????
