70,000 apps sure, but how many of those are crap and dupes of other apps or slight variations?

Quality vs Quantity has to be considered. Does the app store really need 100 apps for checking the weather? or a gun app that lets you "shoot" other people?
I'm not saying that the android or bberry app stores are equal to the apple store, but seriously, there is a lot of redundancy.

BTW, 16:9 is great for movies, but for everything else, it makes no sense. Do yourself a favor next weekend, go to Best Buy and hold both in your hands, then write back and let me know what you think :)

Having tested the HP Slate, Xoom, ipad and a playbook, your statement of "no one can beat the ipad 2's hardware and price" is ridiculous.

Maybe in the way that YOU use your ipad, but such a blanket statement is shortsighted.

From one article:

Sometimes you have to tip your hat at your opponent and tell them, "Well played." Usually, however, those or similar words of mutual respect are saved for after the fight, when there's a clear winner and loser. Samsung isn't waiting. With Apple having announced its iPad 2 on March 2, Samsung had some things to say about Cupertino's next generation tablet, essentially admitting that Apple once again has set the bar and it's not going to be easy to hurdle.

Personally i'm looking forward to Rims product. As far as pricing? Although RIM has kept mum on pricing, CNET Senior Editor Donald Bell speculates that the PlayBook could start at $500 and cost up to $1,000, if unsubsidized by a carrier. But since it hasn't arrived like it or not Apple is still the leader.

Apple has a clear lead in the Pad segment and the Ipod 2 seems to offer a number of refinements and improvements.

I am sure that with time the others may catch-up. If I was going to buy one today the Ipod 2 for $500 seems like the way to go but I still don't see a need unless you travel or commute on mass transit. I guess you could bring one to business meeting. It would be good for a senior that just wants to check email and play games. Over time the Pad has grown in purpose and use. I still think a large segment of Pad buyers have it to be cool.
